What to enter
| Input | Meaning and units |
|---|---|
| Classes attended (classes) | Enter classes attended in classes; use the same basis as the other measurements. |
| Classes recorded (classes) | Enter classes recorded in classes; use the same basis as the other measurements. |
| Target attendance (%) | Enter percentage units: 5 means 5%, not a fraction of 0.05. |
Understanding your result
Every additional class is assumed attended. A 100% target with past absences has no finite solution and is excluded.
Common mistakes
- Each new attended class also increases the total-class denominator.
Check your calculation
- Use the worked example as a known reference case, then change one input at a time and check the direction and units of the response.

How many consecutive attended classes would reach my attendance target?
Calculate the additional fully attended classes needed to bring a recorded attendance ratio to an entered target.
Common uses
- How many consecutive attended classes would reach my attendance target
How it works
Solve 100(a+x)/(t+x)>=target and round the nonnegative solution upward. Every additional class is assumed attended. A 100% target with past absences has no finite solution and is excluded. Arithmetic under the entered grading convention only; no institutional grade, credit or attendance policy is inferred. Examples are illustrative.
Worked example
Enter Classes attended: 8 classes; Classes recorded: 10 classes; Target attendance: 90 %. Results: Additional attended classes: 10 classes; Attendance after those classes: 90 %.
